Alan Forbes, MD, PhD, MSc (Engg)
Dr. Alan Forbes is the Director of the Winter Park Cancer Center. He brings 30 years of patient care experience and clinical expertise to focus on the care of his patients. He began his career at the Harvard Medical School and received a Ph.D. from M.I.T. in Nuclear Physics. He has been part of the Orlando cancer care community since 1984 and served as the Department Chair for Radiation Oncology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando for 15 years.
Dr. Forbes has brought to his new cancer institute his most valued colleagues and professional staff; whom are all experts in the care of patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, abdominal cancer, head and neck cancer, and neurological malignancies. In addition, his newly renovated 10,000 sq. foot center is equipped with a state-of-the-art Siemens radiosurgery platform, a devoted PET/CT treatment planning system, an MRI treatment planning system, and brachytherapy capabilities with expertise for all sites including prostate.
Dr. Forbes and his team are committed to provide the Orlando/Winter Park community a concierge level experience unlike what has been previously possible in Central Florida.
